Last week I had the days completely mixed up, so I forgot to post an HNT.  I think that's a sign that vacation is moving too fast!  So, for this week, more fun shoes.

I do have a thing for funky shoes.  These have a cute little fish pattern all over them.

Symphony For One

I’d been curious about this one for a while, so I decided to buy it from EdenFantasys and give it a rock or two. The Siena Symphony from Mantric is an unusual looking g-spot vibrator. It’s not really meant for thrusting but for inserting, nestling, and rocking, so it’s better used solo and not with a partner. Its shape and girth make the Symphony filling. While it has a clitoral nub, the vibrations don’t reach it and it only stimulates the clitoris with the rocking motion of the toy.

The Symphony comes in a burgundy and white box, with a drawing of the outline of the product on the top. Product information is on the sides and bottom. Inside the box is the Symphony, nestled in a burgundy foam holder and shrink-wrapped in plastic. A small instruction manual in several languages is also included.

This vibrator is made from silicone, so it’s non-porous, hypoallergenic, phthalates-free and latex-free. It’s odorless and tasteless right out of the package. It is smooth to the touch, with a bit of drag from its matte finish. There is a noticeable seam that runs around it, but the seam cannot be felt during use and doesn’t detract from the Symphony’s stimulation. There are also some light indentation lines that run from the clitoral bulge out to the shaft of the Symphony, and some small nubs on the clitoral piece itself. I would have preferred the clitoral bulge to be a bit longer, but it was pleasurable once I got the Symphony situated.

The Symphony is made of silicone, so it’s easy to clean. While it can’t be boiled or run through the dishwasher, it can be washed with antibacterial soap and warm water and dried with a soft towel. A condom should always be used if sharing this toy, and only water-based lubricants should be used.

The batteries should be removed when the Symphony is not in use, and it should be stored away from direct sunlight. The box works well to store this toy.

The Symphony It resembles a wave, and it is a soft pink in color with a black base. A raised M in a circle is on the backside above the base. The Symphony is 8 1/2” long, with about 4” of insertable length, from the tip to right above the clitoral bump. With a 1 5/8” diameter at its widest point, the Symphony creates a feeling of fullness.

The buttons on the base face you when the toy is inserted and are easy to press. The base is easy to hold on to for rocking the toy. The base unscrews to reveal a battery compartment that holds 4 AAA batteries. A battery position diagram clearly shows how they should be inserted.

The Symphony sports 10 modes of vibration, all of which are felt mostly in the tip. In fact, the closer you get to the clitoral nub, the less the vibrations can be felt, if at all.

Two buttons, one above the other on the base, control the Symphony. Pressing either will change the vibration pattern, and the LED light between the buttons changes color when pressed. The Symphony can be turned off by pressing and holding either button, or by cycling through the vibration patterns.

In addition to changing color, the LED light also flashes in tempo with the buttons and strength. It is green for low vibrations, yellow for medium, and red for high. This is a handy feature, as you can tell what intensity the vibrations are on.

If you start by pressing the top button, the vibration patterns are:

• Fast, strong pulses
• Short, long pulses
• 2 short and 1 long pulse pattern
• 5 pulses, from low vibration increasing to high vibration
• Low to medium vibration, 2 fast pulses, then medium to high vibration and 2 fast pulses (repeats)
• Low to high vibration over 10 seconds, 2 fast pulses, then high to low vibration over 10 seconds and 2 fast pulses (repeats)
• Low to high vibration for 10 seconds followed by 3 pulses, 1 each of low, medium, and high intensity (repeats)
• Low steady vibration
• Medium steady vibration
• High steady vibration
• Off

If you start with the bottom button, the sequence is reversed. What’s unusual here is that the high steady vibration, typically my favorite mode on a vibrator, is the first vibration pattern when starting with the bottom button. The vibration patterns are unique, and it’s easy to find a few that will work best for you.

What's especially nice is the Symphony is waterproof.  Just make sure to securely twist on the cap to prevent water leaking into the battery compartment.   While it isn't a good toy for the shower, it's great to relax in a bubble bath and let the Symphony do its thing.

A Merry Christmas Toy

When I first saw the Candy Cane glass dildo from Don Wands, I wondered who would buy such a thing. I mean, really, a glass candy cane? But as Christmas came around, I looked at it again, and thought it would be a cute accompaniment to some Christmas Eve sex and a sexy Santa outfit.

The Candy Cane is very cute. It comes in a simple plastic easy-to-open package, and is accompanied by one of Don Wands’ wonderful plush and poofily-padded storage bags that fits the Candy Cane nicely.

This dildo is made of clear tempered glass with a red “ribbon” in the glass for the stripes. This ribbon runs around the cane in a continuous line. Tempered glass is smooth, non-porous, phthalates-free, and hypoallergenic. The glass is shatter-resistant, but should always be checked for chips or cracks before and after use. It can be used for temperature play by running it under warm water or putting it in the refrigerator (but never put it in the microwave!)

The Candy Cane can be cleaned by using antibacterial soap and water, or your favorite toy cleaner. It can also be boiled or run through the dishwasher on the top rack to disinfect it. If you plan on sharing it, though, please use a condom. Water-based, silicone, and oil lubricants are all safe to use, and just a little lube goes a long way to make the Candy Cane super slick.

This is a surprisingly discreet sex toy if it’s around Christmas. It can be hung on the tree (make sure it’s far enough back so it doesn’t fall and break), or laid out on the table with other holiday decorations. If you have a lot of Christmas knick-knacks it will fit right in.

The Candy Cane is about 7 1/2” long, with 6” insertable from the stem end. The other end can only be inserted an inch or 2 due to its curve. The Candy Cane is only 1” in diameter, so it’s easy to slide in.

The cane is safe to use anally, even without a flared base, as the curve makes it unlikely to slip all the way in, and either end can be inserted. The rounded handle end makes it easy to hold onto and thrust, but be careful not to thrust too hard, especially if using on a partner, so you don’t bruise them.

This is a fun way to spice up your holiday play!

Pretty, Shiny Clamps

I was excited to get to review the Spartacus Lavish Nipple Clamps for Babeland.com.  For one thing, I love tweezer style clamps.  They’re easy and comfortable to wear, and they look nice.  For another thing, my husband loves when I wear lingerie that exposes my breasts, and this is a nice way to adorn them, as well as allow me to wear just a skirt and hose and feel more fully dressed.

These clamps come in an easy to open clamshell-style plastic case.  The clamps are visible through the front of the package.  They are tweezer style clamps, so they are easily adjustable for small and large nipples, or nipples in between.

The tweezer ends are capped with black rubber grips to ensure comfort.  The clamps stay in place well, although some tugging on them will cause them to come off unless you’ve really got them tightened down.  The rubber grips can be removed if you want a more intense sensation, but the metal can really dig in, and the clamps are not really meant to be worn this way.

The Lavish Nipple Clamps are very pretty.  They are black, beaded, and are nickel-free for those sensitive to this metal.  Each clamp is a total of 4 1/2" long.  The tweezer is 2 3/4", and the beading is 1 3/4".  The beads are attached to the tweezer bottom by a small pewter-colored ring.  There are 2 pewter colored beads, about 1/8” long, which surround a “diamond” piece.  A larger, 3/4" long black teardrop bead is at the end.  This bead gives the decoration some weight, and hangs and sways nicely from the nipple.

Can you wear these under a shirt?  Not inobtrusively.  The clamps are large enough that if your shirt is tight, they’ll be obvious underneath.   But you really wouldn’t want to wear them this way anyways.  They are meant to decorate your breasts and entice your partner, and that’s exactly what they’ll do.

So I was at the mall a few weeks ago, and saw these.  The color really caught my eye.  Shiny for the holidays, but not the typical silver and gold.  I'm in love!

Midori's Expert Guide to Sensual Bondage

I had never watched an instructional sex video.  So when I got the opportunity to review Midori’s Expert Guide to Sensual Bondage DVD, free and courtesy of Babeland.com, I was more than excited.  While my husband and I play around with BDSM, most of what we do has come about from experimentation and a few hard videos.

Midori’s Expert Guide to Sensual Bondage is from Vivid Entertainment and Smart Ass Productions.  It is directed by Tristan Taormino and written and hosted by Sex Expert and Author Midori.  Midori has been a regular advice columnist for Men’s Health magazine, as well as being featured in Playboy, Cosmo, Vogue, and other magazines.  She’s well known for her books including “The Seductive Art of Japanese Bondage,” and here she gets to present her information in a more visual manner.

The DVD is presented widescreen, and shot in high definition.  It is DVD-rom compatible, with no regional coding.  Chapter stops are reasonable throughout the running length of about 1 hour 36 minutes.  Both the lighting and sound are great, and what music there is isn’t terrible.

The DVD stars Midori, Adrianna Nicole, Mark Davis, Madison Young, and Danny Wylde.   These are nice pairings.  The couples (Adrianna and Mark, Madison and Danny) seem comfortable with each other and really into the sex they are having, which is a nice change from run-of-the-mill porn.  I’ve long been a fan of Adrianna’s and Mark’s work, but haven’t seen a lot of Madison or Danny.  After this, though, I will be looking them up to see what else they’ve done.

The Special Features

Both scenes from the feature are presented in the special features, but here they are without Midori’s voiceover, and can be watched just for the action.  They are smoking hot, but unfortunately can’t be viewed back to back without going to the menu in between.

The DVD

The DVD has an introduction, lesson, and two scenes acting out a bondage scenario.

Introduction (about 11 minutes)

Midori starts out talking about why people like bondage.  She talks about the importance of communication when delving into bondage in a relationship, and then covers some safety information like establishing a safe word or signal.  Also covered is how tight restraints and collars should be, where to bind during restraint, and what kind of blindfold to choose.  Midori mentions keeping scissors around just in case, and talks about simple household items that can be utilized as bondage tools, as well as what to look for in ready-made bondage restraints.

The Lesson (about 13 1/2 minutes)

The lesson features Adrianna and Mark.  These two appear very comfortable with each other and relaxed while Midori shows them how to transform their bedroom.  Mark is going to be the top and Adrianna the bottom for the Lesson.

The couple chooses a regular blindfold, and Midori demonstrates, with their assistance, how to use scarves and ready made restraints for bondage.  Each type of restraint is shown in several possible uses.

Adrianna and Mark (about 37 minutes)

For this scene and the next, Midori does a voice-over, highlighting things to do or watch while playing out a bondage scenario.  Adrianna and Mark make a nice couple, with what seems to be genuine interest in each other.  They make out and tease while Mark removes Adrianna’s clothes and binds her.  The two share a lot of kissing, and Adrianna enjoys a lot of oral and fingering while she’s tied spread-eagle on the bed.   The collaring scene is hot, with Mark controlling Adrianna with a leash for a good deepthroat blowjob. 

The two explore a variety of cuffing positions, as well as belt binding and cuffs and chains while they fuck in several positions.  Mark cums on Adrianna’s pussy to end this hot scene.

Madison and Danny  (about 34 minutes)

Madison and Danny’s scene is also incredibly hot.  The two start out dressed, and kissing like crazy, and definitely seem into each other.   He uses some strong hand play before she undresses and he ties her to a door facing forward.  Some slapping play before he releases her for a blowjob with her ankles still attached to the door, followed by some doggie.

Is It Worth It?

In a word yes!  If you’ve ever been curious about bondage play, this is a great video to start with.  Midori provides sensible and good information, and watching the couples demonstrate hot bondage sex is enlightening as well as arousing.  There is good use of cuff play as well as toy use.  I would have enjoyed having a few more scenes with couples interacting, but overall this was very well done.

While the scenes in this DVD are man/woman, the positions and restraining moves could be adapted for same sex couples.

Santa's Strokin' It

A while back, Gary won the Weekly Review Rumble at EdenFantasys with his review of Sheeparella. Seriously funny! Since it was "Wild Card Week", he used the gift card to send the four of us who came in second a perverted wind-up toy instead (and not a sheep, thankfully. I’m not sure how I’d explain that one). This wind-up toy has his side knob accessible with him still in the package, which also announces “TRY ME!”. Well, how can you resist? A few quick turns of the knob and you can watch Santa stroke his enormous plastic penis, up and down, with his right hand.

I’m not sure if that means he’s a lefty or a righty, but he gets down to business for close to 20 seconds before he runs out of juice and stops stroking. Just turn the winder 7 times till he’s at maximum stroking capacity.

Strokin’ Santa is about 5” tall. He’s pretty slim ( I suspect that’s so he can reach that cock he’s strokin’), with an overly pink face and white beard, flesh colored hands, and flesh colored cock and balls. He wears a red hat and suit accented with black belt and boots. Santa’s made of plastic, so he’s hard all over, especially where it counts. Three small visible screws hold him together in the back.

HNT : Tattoo #4

So, I'm still experimenting with tattoos.  This one is the same colors as the butterfly tattoos I've tried so far, but with moons and stars.  I'm thinking this will be an interesting way to date our videos by the tattoo on my back before I actually get the real one.  I'm much more partial to the blues than the reds, I think, although I'd like to try a purple design as well.

At the core of the book is this: it is very, very difficult to study human beings sexually in a scientific setting. Science and sex are both delicate things and no normal human being is going to act the way they normally do while doing the down and dirty if they’re being watched, probed, evaluated, hooked to machines, and so on.

Note: Some EP’s are picked because of the review itself and some are picked because the product made me go “Oooooh, want!” This one is definitely the latter. That’s not to say the review isn’t good too, it’s just overshadowed by my desire to read this and everything else by Mary Roach. Will you have the same reaction?
